Follow your heart and start as you mean to go on “...the wise words spoken by Johnny Flynn, Iann’s grandad. This inspired Iann to give up his safe full time job and take the plunge to becoming a full time songwriter and performer.

Now after 7 years of gigging all around Ireland, Iann Brennan is set to release his single “Game Over”, a track from the forthcoming album entitled “Start As You Mean To Go On”.

The song was written on a train journey in Ireland. Iann had heard a couple having an argument and the woman shouted “I’m done, it's Game Over” to her partner. Witnessing this argument sparked the idea of this song by Iann.

This brilliant pop/rock album is an eclectic mix of heartfelt, melodic and anthemic songs which were written by Iann and performed by Iann and his band. “Start As You Mean To Go On” was recorded and produced by renowned Irish producer Ray Traynor.

“Along the way Iann contacted original Aslan songwriter/bass player Tony McGuiness, who also wrote the hit song "If You See Kay"  for Irish band The Script, and when Tony heard Iann’s songs, he wanted to play on the album bringing some magical, grooving bass lines.

At the final stage of making the album, Iann was fortunate and very appreciative to get U2’s renowned album designer Steve Averill to design Iann’s album cover, logo and artwork.

In September 2023, Iann was surprised to learn that his music had reached the ears of a  European record label who then approached Iann to sign with them to release the album. Iann signed with AGR Television Records and will be releasing “Game Over” on November 10th and the full album will be released on November 24th.

Iann has performed in Irelands most iconic venues & festivals such as 3Olympia Theatre, Vicar St, Cork’s Opera House, and Irelands largest music festival Electric Picnic and along the way he has successfully played support to many renowned acts such as Christy Dignam, Aslan, Declan O Rourke, Damien Dempsey, Mary Coughlan, Hazel O Connor and Eddi Reader.
